Amino acids are the building blocks of peptides and proteins. A peptide is a short chain of amino acids joined by peptide bonds. The sequence, shape, and chemical modifications of that chain help determine how it behaves.

Think of a receptor as a receiving point. A compatible molecule binds to it, changes its activity, and begins a sequence of events within a cell. That sequence can influence secretion, metabolism, growth, or other functions.

Intramuscular

Delivery into muscle. It uses a different tissue target and technique from subcutaneous administration.
